1) A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum

Charlotte Players presents the fourth production of its 51st Season, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. This hilarious musical farce, with Music by Stephen Sondheim, Book by Burt Shevelove & Larry Gelbart is Broadway's greatest farce. It is light, witty, fast-paced and one of the funniest musicals ever written. Artistic Direction by Sherie Ragan, Musical Direction by Kenneth Crisp and Kathleen Candales, Choreographer.
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum will be performed at the Cultural Center Theater on February 17-19 and February 23-, 2012. Performances are at 7:30 PM on Friday, Feb. 17th, Saturday, Feb. 18th, Thursday, Feb. 23rd, Friday, Feb 24th and Saturday, Feb 25th, 2012. There will be one matinee performance at 2:00 PM on Sunday, Feb 19th, 2012. Reserved seating is available by calling 625-4175, Ext 220 Mon- Fri 10 AM to 3 PM. 2) Celebration of Reading 2012
Florida's Celebration of Reading is a special day that brings together best-selling authors, business partners, literacy volunteers and friends to support Volunteer USA Foundation's Family Literacy Academies and to celebrate the profound impact that its literacy programs have on families in the U.S. (239) 444 1234

1:30-3:30 p.m.: Education policy forum, A Conversation on Family Literacy at Fl. Gulf Coast University. 3) Zimsculpt in the Garden Opening Gala

A remarkable showing of the internationally acclaimed exhibit Zimsculpt, comprised of more than 200 Zimbabwean stone (shona) sculptures created by 80 artists, set in the lush and diverse surroundings of Naples Botanical Garden. Stroll the Garden and watch as two of the contributing artists, Passmore Mupindiko and Patrick Sephani, give a live demonstration of the carving of these amazing sculptures
