1) Portraits in Colored Pencil
Organization: Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center

In 5 days you will learn everything you need to know to draw proficiently in colored pencil with no experience required. This class will make you a master at various colored pencil techniques, and capturing things realistically. Hammond has been a professional artist and art instructor for more than 30 years. She has published more than 35 art instruction books. Cost is $395 (supplies are not included).

2) Discovering Henri Matisse
Organization: Hodges University

Along with Picasso, Henri Matisse helped redefine the language of painting in the 20th century. These two artists were dear friends and lifelong rivals. Matisse took pure color to an abstract level, which was his gift to the birth of "modern art."

5) Haven on Earth Animal League Cat Café Fundraiser
Organization: Haven on Earth Animal League

Haven on Earth Animal League will host a fundraiser at Miromar Lakes Golf Club to help save homeless cats. Proceeds will benefit the planned Cat Café that will house rescue cats and kittens and provide a place for the public to enjoy a beverage and interact with adoptable felines. Amy Bennett Williams, from The News-Press will be a guest speaker.
